Haiti I will remember you...

I have had a great time in Haiti and will definitely be replaying most of these events in my mind. From our time driving around to different sites to take water samples and seeing how people live to hanging out with our kids at the beach. This trip was wonderful for reminding me of why I am here and why I keep coming back.

Sunday School

Playing games outside

Tama reading the Bible

This past Sunday I was able to go and visit Sunday School that I had started. It was amazing to see it still going and the kids still enjoying it! It changes, as everything does, but it was still them learning about God and the Bible and having fun too. They recited some of the things they had learned and sang for me when they saw me. I was very happy and it definitely made my day.

Pictures!

Ok so Paige took all these pictures of the adorable children as we put socks on them. Little did I know that when you help a child put socks on that he puts his or her hands on your head! I was a little surprised when I started putting socks on this child when all of a sudden he was gripping my head! Oh well I enjoyed it just as much as the kids did!

Haiti at last!

So far already we have had many exciting encounters! My first time driving from Port Au Prince to Les Cayes, it was interesting to say the least! We met up with Fritzner and I was so excited to see him again! I also have gotten to see most of the kids I wanted to already and they were excited to see Paige and I. We have already started giving out some of the clothes and things that we received from so many generous people, their eyes lit up when we handed them something new... so thank you to all who have donated items and given me the opportunity to see your items making a kids day!

Pictures to come later, I couldn't get them to upload sorry!

Leaving tomorrow!

Tomorrow I will be starting my latest trip to Haiti! I am very excited and hope to make some good progress while down there. Paige and I plan on visiting with several organizations and taking lots of pictures! EDUplus is now being processed as a nonprofit and we hope to dive right in towards eliminating poverty in Haiti and hopefully changing a lot of lives! Pray for us and check back often to see new photos!

The Lords Prayer

God speaks to us in all sorts of ways, and lately He has been speaking to me. He has been telling me to focus on myself at a time when I try to think of others. When I pray normally I try to pray for all that I can think of who need the Lord, however often times I forget that Jesus taught us to pray and ask God to forgive us and help us forgive others. To lead us not into temptation but to deliver us from evil. So often we forget to spend time focusing on ourselves to make us better people. God has been telling me this week to look at myself and seek out the changes I need to make. I love all the small things that God sends me and all of a sudden I realize that all these small messages are really for one big message, I must just take more time than most to get the point =)

So Lord, now I'm listening! Help me to become the person I want to be, to be more Christ like and able to do your work!

Love!

Going to Haiti

In less than one week I will be on my way to Les Cayes Haiti! I am very excited and ready to be back in the country that stole my heart! I have been working with one of my friends I met down there, Paige http://paigeshaitipage.blogspot.com, to get a nonprofit called EDUplus off the ground. We are both very excited about this opportunity and praying that God will continue to do his good works for us! So far the Lord has opened many doors and proven He is with us! Pray for us as we go down and meet with some other organizations!
